Viscosity-sensitive flowmeters for circulating lube oil in crushing

Universal Flow Monitors, Inc. recently announced L Series viscosity-insensitive flowmeters, which assure delivery of circulating lubrication oil to machinery bearings in high vibration applications such as mining, ore processing and rock crushing.

The L Series viscosity-insensitive flowmeters from Universal Flow Monitors, Inc. assures delivery of circulating lubrication oil to machinery bearings in rock crushing.

These piston-style flowmeters maintain +/- 5 percent accuracy for lubrication oils with a viscosity range between 40 and 200 centipoise. Although operating in the 40-200 CP viscosity range is standard, a meter can be optimized for specific viscosities within that range.

The viscosity-insensitive L Series meters can monitor lube oil flow rates from 2 to 20 gallons per minute (7.6 to 75.7 liters per minute). The meters monitor rate of oil flow, provide flow rate indication to assist in problem diagnosis, and respond immediately if flow goes too low.

L Series meters from Universal Flow Monitors are available with a field-adjustable, high-vibration Single Pole Double Throw (SPDT) Micro Switch® to trigger equipment shutdown in high vibration applications and protect against bearing damage.

The L Series flowmeters are mechanical units that require no power. They are Type 4 weatherproof units with wetted parts of aluminum, brass, stainless steel and Viton® fluorocarbon elastomer. The meters accommodate maximum ambient temperatures of 150 degrees (65 degrees C), maximum fluid temperatures of 200 degrees (93 degrees C) and maximum pressure to 500 PSI (35 Bar).

L Series flowmeters are easy to install, operate and maintain. They mount in any orientation, with no straight pipe runs required. The meters have CSA and CE ratings. NIST traceable calibration is available.
