Support U.S. Mining Jobs. Tell Congress to Reject H.R. 1310.

New legislation has recently been introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives that would prohibit or severely restrict all types of mining, road and highway construction and private and commercial development projects, putting at risk millions of high-paying jobs.

ACT now and contact your members of Congress and urge them to oppose the so-called "Clean Water Protection Act of 2009" (H.R. 1310).

This ill-conceived legislation unnecessarily redefines the Clean Water Act in such a way that will severely restrict the availability of critically important permits, thus halting a wide range of economic activity.

H.R. 1310 jeopardizes the future of all domestic mining and poses a grave threat to dozens of vital domestic industries.  Without access to essential Clean Water Act permits, hundreds of thousands of mining jobs will be lost and many projects intended to stimulate the economy will never be brought to fruition.

ACT now and urge Congress to reject misguided and ill-informed efforts to prohibit mining and other development practices that create good American jobs and help power our homes and businesses with abundant and affordable domestic energy.
