Does Your Screen only make 3 cuts? Smico’s makes 4!

A Vibratory Screen That Can Do It All!

Smico’s High Capacity Screens can handle high tons-per-hour demand. This unit can also be converted into a 2-in-1 unit, allowing you to feed the topside of the screen with one product and then feed a different product to the bottom screen. You can get four products out of the top unit and four products out of the bottom unit. Or just combine the feed and use the internal splitter. The HC unit really can handle any load!

When Smico first introduced the High Capacity unit their customers put it to the test: they started shipping hard-to-screen materials from all over the world to see if Smico could screen it. Smico’s HC screen passed their tests.

High Capacity (HC) Screen
Smico Vibratory Screens headquartered in Oklahoma City since 1952 have been providing quality equipment since the1930s.
The HC unit is a high capacity split-flow screen that utilizes elliptical, vertical motion.

Benefits of the HC Screen

  • Quick Change Screen System greatly reduces maintenance downtime.
  • Easy Access to the interior of the screen.
  • High Volume single unit processing.
  • No Additional Structural Requirements.
  • Greater Processing Capacity & Efficiency than competitors’ units.

Easy Access
Smico’s HC design features hinged quick-release doors. This revolutionary design allows for safe, easy access to the screen interior -- saving you valuable time and money compared to units that require the user to remove a panel with additional tools.

Reduced Maintenance
The centroidly-mounted, counter-weighted drive eliminates costly gearing mechanisms and allows easy access. It is very efficient and easy to maintain, reducing maintenance costs on the HC.

Quick Change Screens
Smico’s HC screens are pre-tensioned. Each pocket acts individually thus isolating tears that can be easily patched. This greatly extends the overall life of each screen panel and reduces your operating costs.

The Smico Advantage: High Frequency Elliptical Motion
Smico is often asked why their machines work so much better than the others on the market. Their machines’ superior performance can be explained by their elongated elliptical motion plus high frequency. This results in the best motion with the best speeds. In addition, they can build a unit with up to 640 square feet of screening area. They have announced that in 2012 they will be offering a machine with 1,200 square feet of screening area!

With this motion and speed, the ball decks in their units work continuously to clean the screen, giving you a better cut, more through-put and a unit that can handle just about anything.

In contrast, companies that use a gyratory motion is like running your material down a cheese grater. If your material is friable, this results in more fines and flat spots. Such machines need 30% more screening area than is required with a Smico unit – resulting in a larger footprint and higher capital cost. Another disadvantage is the ball deck. It needs to hit ball-to-ball to get a vertical motion to hit the screen to keep it from blinding, but most of the time that doesn’t happen.

Smico offers clear advantages: better motion and better speed resulting in better performance.
