Sandvik Construction

Sandvik will be displaying its latest additions to the Impactor family at Conexpo

Sandvik’s new range of tracked impact crushers will provide an extensive mobile crushing solution whatever the application. Versatility of the equipment is ensured by a comprehensive range of optional extras that allow the right crusher to precisely match the demands of the specific application. All models possess high reduction ratios and give customers the best possible product shape, high productivity, low wear, easy maintenance and a low cost per ton. Available in a heavy duty and compact form Sandvik tracked impact crushers will set the standard for the industry.

The QI440HS – Heavy duty solutions for the toughest of challenges

The QI440 is a heavy duty, tracked, self propelled impact crusher with an on board re-circulating system, double screen boxes and double deck to allow two screened products to be produced along with an oversize. The oversize may be re-circulated back into the impactor, without re-handling, or the conveyor can be hydraulically rotated to produce a clean oversize product.

These features mean that the QI440HS is set not only to be the definitive heavy duty tracked impact crusher, but will also allow customers even greater return on their investment through the facility to produce accurately sized products for immediate use. To compliment the QI44OHS the latest tracked impactor developed by Sandvik is the QI240.

QI240 – The demolition and recycling impact crusher

The QI240 has been developed over the last two years by Sandvik's renowned research and development programme. It represents the union of Sandvik's recently acquired mobile crusher expertise combined with Sandvik materials technology and manufacturing excellence.

Purpose designed to process aggregate and construction materials on site, the QI240 has been designed with mobility, productivity, transportability, minimal environmental impact and user friendliness at its core. Hence the QI240 is tangible representation of Sandvik's commitment to servicing the growing market for the recycling of construction materials, and the production of high quality aggregates from materials often previously seen as waste.

The QI240 utilises market leading Sandvik impactor technology which has enabled the development of a fully mobile, compact impactor, designed to either work in a primary or secondary capacity. The QI240 functions either independently or in conjunction with other members of the Sandvik product line, all in order to produce the highest quality materials. Although designed for the recycling of construction materials, the state of the art Sandvik impactor design enables the QI240 to be the perfect impact crusher for the smaller quarry. This is where its compact design is perfect where space and machine manoeuvrability are at a premium, but superb product shape and high levels of production are required.

Both impactors share many common features which that make them the choice throughout the construction industry. These features include:

  • The machine is fitted with a pre-screen to ensure maximum scalping capability in order to prevent any undersize material passing through the impactor, thereby maximising throughput and reducing wear costs. This also allows a specified sized product to be produced from the natural fines conveyor.
  • The pre-screen has a choice of grizzly, punch plate or heavy duty mesh top deck and mesh bottom deck, providing the flexibility to suit any application.
  • The impactors are fitted with an under-pan feeder which drastically reduces any spillage issues generally associated with impact crushers. The under-pan feeder eliminates the need for skirt rubbers that are normally situated in the severe impact zone of a feed boot.
  • The under-pan feeder also protects the main product conveyor from high velocity material from the rotor. This material is contained on the wear resistant under-pan feeder liners and gently delivered onto the conveyor belt.
  • The Sandvik PriSec impactor on the QI240 is the most flexible impactor currently available on the market designed to meet end product specifications.
  • Two hydraulically adjustable apron curtains can be positioned to facilitate the machine's operation as a Primary impactor; however on the QI240 they can also be repositioned to operate as a Secondary impactor to produce much smaller end products.
  • All of the above combined with the variable engine speed gives a tip speed range of 30 m/s to 37 m/s resulting in a wide range product gradations being achievable.

The QI240 is the latest development in a truly exciting product line with the Sandvik range of tracked crushing, screening and scalping solutions providing customer focused solutions whatever the industry and whatever the application.
