Sandvik dealers like Northeast serve customers with excellence

After acquiring the Extec and Fintec brands of crushing and screening equipment in 2007 and integrating the two product lines into one recognizable brand, at the start of 2010, Sandvik Mining and Construction began marketing these two consolidated brands under the Sandvik brand. With this merger, customers have access to one of the largest and most comprehensive lines of mobile and crushing equipment in the world. Sandvik quality with its world renowned customer support network, means that these lines will continue to thrive in the years to come.

As a part of the former Extec dealership network, Extec Northeast was established in 1999 as an independent distributor for the Extec brand of mobile screening and crushing equipment. Founder and president Damien Donaghy had been selling Extec products in the tri-state area since 1992 and it was in 1999 that he became the distributor for the covering Northern New Jersey, Long Island, New York City, New York State and Southeast Connecticut, tri-state area. From its beginning, Extec Northeast has continued to supply their customers with quality products and excellent service, as they became the leading supplier of portable screening and crushing equipment in the region.

With the acquisition of these brands by Sandvik, Northeast became the exclusive dealer for Sandvik mobile equipment in the region. “We provide a comprehensive range of screens and crushers in different sizes for both the small and large material producers,” said Donaghy. “With 25 different types and sizes of portable jaw crushers, cone crushers, impactors and screeners, Northeast can provide all the equipment necessary to deal with any material handling application.”

“Our dedicated sales, administrative and support team is another reason for our success,” he said. They believe in the products we sell and know that a happy customer results in repeat business. All our salesmen have years of experience with screens and crushers and work extremely hard ensuring our customers are satisfied with their purchase long after the sale is complete. For example, Donal Mullally, Northeast’s Long Island Sales Rep, who serves the Gramercy Group with their crushing and screening needs, provides customers with expert advice and experience that he has gained over many years of service to the industry. Mullally is committed to customer satisfaction long after the sale is complete.”

Gramercy Group turns to Northeast
Donaghy said that when the Gramercy Group began serving the greater New York City area in 2000, they turned to Extec Northeast for all their crushing and screening needs. “Gramercy turned to us because we offer quality products, excellent service and we have an extremely reliable parts department,” he said. “We sold the first C12 tracked jaw crusher, to Frank and Vinny at Gramercy nearly 10 years ago. Since then, our working relationship has grown to what it is today.”

“They like the large jaw opening of the C-12, which has a hydraulic jaw adjustment,” he said. “This is a high production unit which gives customers more work done on any given day.”

Because the Gramercy Group’s first experience with Extec Northeast they purchased a second C-12 crusher and an E-7 screener to meet their increased demand for crushed and screened material. Since then, Northeast has worked closely with Gramercy on many projects offering advice with equipment set up and usage in all aspects of material handling. That helps to maximize productivity and reduce costs.

Donaghy said that the Giant stadium project has been very time sensitive and it is extremely important for dealers like Northeast to provide parts and service to customers like the Gramercy Group quickly, to minimize their down time. “We are dedicated to customer satisfaction,” said Donaghy. “We value all our customers. We appreciate the business relationships we have developed over the years.”

Donaghy said that in addition to new equipment sales and rentals they offer a large inventory of used screens and crushers for sale. “We have a large, fully stocked parts facility and we rely upon a fleet of Peterbilt service trucks operated by our experienced and knowledgeable service technicians to serve our customers quickly.
