Montreal, Canada-based Major Wire Industries Limited will be exhibiting in Booth No. 910 at the 2009 AGG1 Aggregates Forum & Expo in Orlando, FL, March 9-12. Major Wire, a leading global supplier of screen media, will display its three most popular products at the show: Flex-Mat® 3, OptimumWire® and new Flex-Thane®.

OptimumWire premium wire screen media is made with the highest quality of woven wire in the industry with proven characteristics of high strength and resistance to abrasion.

Flex-Mat 3 High Performance, Self-Cleaning Screen Media has increased screening efficiency in more than 15,000 aggregate applications worldwide. It increases throughput of spec product by up to 40 percent over woven wire or polyurethane panels by eliminating blinding, pegging and clogging. Flex-Mat 3’s independently vibrating wires, bonded in place with the distinctive lime green polyurethane strips, better separate material and increase screening efficiency on screen boxes of all types. It also increases the production volume of spec product because it has up to 30 percent more open area than woven wire screens — allowing 30 percent more properly sized material to continuously fall through. Wear life exceeds that of traditional woven wire by up to three times because there are no cross wires with high wear spots as there is with woven wire.
Wire configurations include a diamond shaped Flex-Mat “D” for most standard applications; wave-patterned Flex-Mat “S” for removal of fines; and triangular Flex-Mat “T” for heavy scalping or fine screening applications.
OptimumWire premium wire screen media is made with the highest quality of woven wire in the industry with proven characteristics of high strength and resistance to abrasion. OptimumWire has up to 40 percent longer wear life against hard drawn high carbon wire of the same diameter, maximizing wear life for producers and ultimately delivering better productivity and return on investment. It is manufactured with the industry’s most stringent wire opening tolerance of plus or minus three percent for precise material passing. The product is available for all of Major Wire’s woven wire screen types in square openings from .125-inch up to 6-inch and wire diameters from .072-inch to .75-inch. In slotted wire, OptimumWire is available in openings from .128-inch x 2-inch to .5-inch x 4.625-inch and wire diameters from .072-inch to .177-inch.
Flex-Thane — the latest innovation from Major Wire — is a Flex-Mat solution for flat deck polyurethane and rubber screens. The product combines the efficiency and performance of Major Wire’s proven Flex-Mat technology with the easy installation of polyurethane and rubber panels to virtually eliminate blinding and pegging problems on flat surface screen decks. Producers will realize better throughput, consistent production of spec material and better production numbers, increasing their overall profits.
Flex-Thane’s modular panels install easily on most common flat surface screen decks, similar to traditional polyurethane and rubber panels. The product is available in 1-foot x 1-foot pint-type panel configurations, with a variety of locking systems to fit virtually any flat surface polyurethane screen deck.
Founded in 1884, Major Wire Industries Limited designs, manufactures and markets Flex-Mat® 3 High Performance, Self-Cleaning Screen Media; Flex-Thane Flex-Mat solution for flat-deck screens; OptimumWireÆ woven tempered and stainless steel wire cloth and polyurethane panels for the quarry, mining, recycling, road building, green waste, top soil and industrial markets.
