C-1540, C-1540RS tracked mobile cone crushers offer innovation, reliability and performance

Terex Finlay has launched two variants of a tracked mobile cone crusher — the C-1540 and C-1540RS — to compliment their existing range of crushers and screeners.

The Terex Finlay C-1540RS cone crusher track plant offers the versatility of crushing, screening and recirculating all on one chassis.

The C-1540 and C-1540RS feature the high performance Terex 1000 Cone Chamber, which has a 40-inch (1,000mm) head size and incorporates a hydraulic setting, tramp release and unblocking system. With the hydrostatic drive and advanced electronic control system, the operator can select from five cone head speed settings which permits the optimization of the chamber and provides extra protection to the chamber.

Many of the benefits of this machine can be attributed to its innovative design. The C-1540 and C-1540RS have an advanced PLC control/monitoring system that facilitates an automatic start/stop sequence, which makes the machine more user friendly ultimately reducing operator error.

The machines also feature an innovative, patent pending, metal detection and purge system. When any metal objects are detected on the feed conveyor, the feeder belt automatically stops and metal detection beams alert the operator. The feeder belt can be hydraulically retracked to its purge position, and then the contaminated section of material is ejected from the machine. Once the contaminated material is removed the machine can resume crushing.

The hydrostatic drive provides precise control of the machine ensuring that the operator can vary the speed of the cone chamber so that throughput can be maximized.

The standard hopper capacity is 6.5 cubic yards, and incorporates a series of crash bars to reduce impact on the belt. Optional hopper extensions are available that increase the capacity to 10.5 cubic yards. A drop down rear door for auxiliary crusher feed is fitted as standard.

The Terex Finlay C-1540 cone crusher track plant sets up quickly and offers excellent onsite mobility. The entire system folds hydraulically for transport.

The machines feature a prescreen module to maximize throughput, reduce cone packing and reduce the wear on cone liners. If required, the prescreen can be bypassed. The entire system folds hydraulically for transport.

The C-1540 and C-1540RS are fitted with heavy duty crawler tracks, and optional radio remote control is available, which makes onsite mobility extremely easy.

The C-1540RS is built around the same common platform as the C-1540 but offers the versatility of a crushing and screening plant on one chassis. The machine features larger tracks, a 12-foot x 5-foot (3,660mm x 1,520mm), detachable double deck sizing screen, transfer conveyor modules, recirculation conveyor and fines stockpiler conveyor.

The recirculation screen can be rapidly detached with the quick release hydraulic and electrical connection if necessary. This permits the machine to be moved around the site and leads to more efficient operation — if recirculation or sizing is not required. The system can be detached or reattached in less than 10 minutes without the need for lifting equipment. The core software/control system can recognize and adjust to suit automatically.

Startup time for both variants is minimal, with the machine ready for operating in less than 5 minutes.

These highly versatile machines have undergone extensive testing in secondary and tertiary applications and have generated significant interest from both contractors and fleet operators.

Complimenting an existing range of crushers and screeners, the C-1540 and C-1540RS are a powerful addition to the Terex Finlay product offering.
