BTI
Founded in 1958, Breaker Technology (BTI) is one of the select few Canadian equipment manufacturers to service the mining, con-struction, demolition, and aggregate industries for such a lengthy period of time.

BTI’s origins started in 1958 as JMG Manufacturing Ltd. In 1967, Teledyne Industries purchased JMG and continued to develop a broader line of applications for core products under the Teledyne CM banner. In 1999, to further BTI’s creation, Teledyne CM was ac-quired by Astec Industries, as a natural addition to their aggregate and mining group. Renamed as Breaker Technology, the company has continued to lead the way in equipment and services for the construction, aggregate and mining industries.

Today as part of the Astec family of companies, BTI is renowned for high performance, unparalleled experience and prod-uct support through a comprehensive sales and service network which includes manufacturing, sales and warehouse facili-ties in Thornbury, Ontario; service and warehouse facilities in Solon, Ohio and Riverside, California; and over 200 strategi-cally located distribution and service outlets worldwide.

Strategic Management
BTI’s specialty applications range from primary and secondary sites involved in construction, demolition or recycling, to quarries and underground mining operations such as scaling and explosives loading.
With its known reputation of engineering products with the most advanced technologies available, BTI’s equipment results in systems that are remarkably easy to use.

To stay in sync with the ever changing market trends and to keep ahead of its competitors, Breaker Technology looks at five market sectors including Mining, Aggregate, Construction, Demolition and Recycling.

Each market Breaker Technology serves has similar needs; therefore, the company works hard to offer the largest range of Rock breakers in the world and has become the leader in Rock breaker development by implementing reach, lift capacity and Smart Boom capabilities.

As the Mining industry heads toward customizable equipment that has greater efficiency, durability, and long life
cycles, BTI knows that manufacturing equipment success is all about achieving higher production levels.

In BTI’s case, clients want higher reach Scissor Lifts and Scalers with more versatility in movement, in a nut shell they want more out of the equipment they are purchasing. Fortunately BTI has been a custom manufacturer through our existence who listens to the customer and we have developed products that will provide a solution to the situations at hand.

ISO Registered
BTI has been ISO 9001 certified since 1998. In 2010 we received our Environmental Management System registration ISO 14001. Our shop and welders are Canadian Welding Bureau certified since 1991. These programs are important to any continuous improvement strategy and proudly we have been working hard to maintain our certification over the last several years.

Technology
Technology plays a critical role in the company’s continued successes. Advancing product lines to include full system moni-toring capability based on CAN Bus technology and implementing a new design of Rock breaker called Smart Boom pushes Breaker Technology equipment to the top of the game.

Looking Forward
BTI continues to look at where the world market is going in regards to technology and is in the process of developing new products that will provide customer solutions.

All of these products will not only enhance our offering to the customer, but provide them with a product that will be a solu-tion provider and be reliable, durable and built with longevity in mind.

BTI looks forward to working together with our customers, providing solutions for a sustainable future.
