 | | by Jon M. Casey | When Tim Kenney of Grace Industries, LLC was looking for crusher wear parts that could withstand the highly abrasive characteristics of the runway concrete and asphalt material that his company was recycling for the JFK Bay Runway project, he called Vinnie Rocco at AMCAST for ideas on what he could use in his Terex Impactor. | AMCAST has a ready supply of crusher wear parts for all kinds of portable and stationary equipment |
Rocco’s answer was that Kenney would find better results using their F60WRI blow bars, a low chrome alternative with wear resistant inserts. With this kind of experience, AMCAST product specialists are able to assist customers helping them with their most difficult replacement parts challenges. “We work closely with our customers like Grace Industries, LLC,” said Rocco. “We carry an inventory of replacement parts for many of the standard horizontal shaft impactors like their Terex unit. We were able to help them make the switch to blow bars that would last 20 to 30 percent longer than the standard bars, so that they could stay on the job longer with less down time. We also carry some of the jaws and cones for the more common units that are used in the portable crushers.” “I met Tim last summer as I was out making regular sales calls on customers and prospects in my coverage area,” said Rocco. “At that time, he was getting his blow bars from a different re-saler. He agreed to try a set of ours, which we manufacture at our plant in Italy. Because we manufacture our own parts, we can provide blow bars with WRI inserts to help extend the life of the parts. We are a little different from most aftermarket parts providers in that we don’t just resell a variety of parts from different manufacturers, but rather we produce our own castings.” Rocco explains that by having that manufacturing capability, AMCAST is able to provide parts for most any brand and style of crusher. “We can reverse engineer parts for a client and with reasonable lead time, we can plan to work with our customers to have their replacement parts in stock when their schedule calls for it,” he said. “If they have emergency repair needs, in many cases, if they are regular clients of ours, we will already have their replacements in stock, since we will have had them made for us awaiting the next installation date. We watch over our customers very closely so that we can be there for them when they need us.” Rocco said that AMCAST serves a national market with facilities in Aurora, CO and from their home office in Bohemia, NY. They serve the portable crushing and screening industry and they have the capability to provide wear parts and screens for stationary plants at quarry operations. “We not only supply crusher parts, but we also have people who specialize in screening applications, belts, bearings, conveyor rollers and chute liners,” he said. “We also offer bucket protection and ground engagement protection for machinery, side liners and breaker plates for crushers. If we don’t have the parts available, we can take customer samples and have new parts made for them specifically. We like to keep their down time to a minimum.” To comment on this story or for additional details click on the related button above. |
